MCM is a Christian organisation, and we stand firmly on this. Our faith plays an existential role in the identity of MCM and governs the work we do, and the way in which we do it. We function from within a deep rooted calling that all disciples of Jesus received. This calling is The Great Commission.  Everything we do is an outflow of this commission.

The Great Commission!

“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” John 20:21-23

This is a command for Christians to go and make disciples; which is to teach and instruct new followers in the Christian faith.

Our central purpose of coming into the world was to go and make disciples (Mark 16:15). We are witnesses of God’s kingdom, preaching Christ crucified as well as raised up from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-5). The cross is not where you get your salvation, but it is what saves! Who cannot be saved? Not one who says Jesus is Lord but denies Him by his or her actions (Romans 10:9-10).

The commission is for us to disciple new believers and instruct them in the Christian life. We do not wait for them to be disciples of someone else before we share the gospel with them! Jesus commanded us to do it without delay (Matthew 28:18-20).

Furthermore we also work with people who are striving to get free from bad habits like addiction and gangsterism, to people who want to turn their whole life around. We help them and guide them living repenting lives. What does this mean? Let’s explain…

What does real repentance look like?

Repentance is really change of mind as well as a change of action (Luke 3:8; Acts 3:19). It means you have been converted from one way of thinking to another, from darkness to light and from Satan’s power to God’s salvation. It is a turning away from all sin, including sinful beliefs (Acts 26:20). It means that in your heart, you turn away from all sin and turn toward God! You cannot mix Christianity with worldliness (James 1:26). If you are going to repent then you must turn away from your sins (Isaiah 55:7; Matthew 4:23-24; Luke 13:3). Your faith can only come through repentance in Jesus Christ! True conversion will result in changed actions and a new way of living that honors Christ. Real Faith will result in faithfulness! Genuine people will show a transformed life that reflects the love and power of God in their lives. Not everyone who calls themselves Christians actually follow the Bible or live genuine Christian lives! Conversion does not come overnight, but it does take time for you really to experience God’s power in your life. I Peter 1:22 says that God cleansed believers through the washing of water by the Word. As you read the Word and make it a part of your everyday life, you will be changed by God’s Word! It is only by spiritual growth that you will become even more like Christ! It is not possible to develop the spiritual life without reading and hearing the word of God!

You cannot learn to swim in a swimming pool without getting wet! You must make a commitment to follow Jesus and follow His teachings that are found in Scripture (Matt 4:17)! You must make amends where necessary, and ask forgiveness from anyone whom you have offended (Matt 5:24; 6:12; 18:23-35)! If you have been living a profane or sinful lifestyle, then it will take some time for you to change your ways (Luke 13:3). Don’t be discouraged if it takes time for your new way of thinking to become an integral part of who you are. Don’t be discouraged if it takes time for your new life in Christ to become more visible! If we say we love Jesus then we are obligated to show our true love through our actions (1 John 3:14-22). We can never expect people around us to believe we are Christians if they do not see Christ living through us (1 Peter 2:15)! You can live like nonbelievers or you can live like a Christian! Love, peace, faithfulness and joy are the qualities of a saintly character (1 Peter 1:22).

MCM commission is to help people change from the old, into the new. All our programs are focus on doing exactly this.
